Diamonds are not formed in a single day. And neither do our movies and television stars. Life is full of ups and downs just like the waves in the sea. Every other person has to go through some kind of rough times in their life. Every struggle a person goes through makes a stronger person. Struggles make a person more down to Earth, make them humble and make them respect and value things. Speaking of television star, the queen of television, Erica Fernandes struggled a lot in her early age. The glamourous diva whom we love on television today as Sonakshi Bose in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Ese Bhi and as Prerna Basu in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2 has gone through a very hard time when she was not even a teenager.

Well, the on-screen beloved bahu had suffered a hard time at the age of 10 when her father fell ill. Her father is an interior designer by profession. When Erica was around 10 to 11 years of age her father had a third-time heart attack. He went in a coma for around one and a half month and after he recovered, he lost his vision. During those times her mother started working and all the responsibilities of the house fell on the shoulders of Erica. Those were the hard times when the sensational diva developed her interest in cooking and baking. It made her independent. The personality trait we see today of her has come from these difficult times which made her stronger.

At the age of 16, she started working and her first assignment as a model was also in the very age. And that’s how she began her journey in being a model and an actress. She even struggled in regional movies, she began her career with. She had difficulty in connecting with the people there. Even though coming from a Konkani Mangalorean Family, a city in Karnataka, she wasn’t aware of the language people use there. She faced these kinds of difficulties because she grew up in Mumbai. Thus, the language barrier was one heck of a hurdle for her. As an early rising actress, there were times in her life that there was no money for food in her home. These tough times taught her to value things and relationships.
