Saumya Tandon who has been in a long association with the Indian comedy series ‘Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain’ has decided to quit the show. The actress appeared in the role of ‘Anita’ aka ‘Gori mem‘ for half a decade. The show was first aired in 2015, starting with a well-known cast.

Saumya was one of the popular faces from the show. Recently she decided to quit the show and confirmed it by saying:

“Yes, I have decided to not renew my contract further. Tomorrow (August 21) is my last day of shoot. Finally, people can stop speculating whether I will continue on the show or not.” – Saumya Tandon

While everyone has been wondering why she quit the show. She says that she is looking for growth and just doesn’t imagine herself continuing the show. However, there have been rumors that she is doing so because of the COVID pandemic and the pay cuts. But the actress denies that and says she is not leaving due to monetary reasons.

“Not continuing with ‘Bhabi Ji…’ was not an impulsive decision. Yes, it is true that I was anxious after my hairdresser tested positive for coronavirus, and I did not want to put my elderly mother and one-and-a-half-year-old son at risk. But, I have completed my notice period. My producers (Sanjay and Binaifer Kohli) were very co-operative and I have a great rapport with them. They have been great producers and respect them a lot. As far as pay cut is concerned, in these times, people have to accept that the economy has been hit. I am not leaving the show because of monetary reasons” – Saumya Tandon

Plenty reports say that the role has been offered to the Big Boss 13 contestant Shefali Jariwala , but there have been no confirmation regarding it by the actress yet.
